Write it from beyond Horizon, around the world




Ventos Iguais na Volta Ao Mundo (the wind blows the same for all around the world ) is a round the world sailing voyage from Lisbon to Lisbon (Portugal), which aims to fight against all forms of discrimination. The main focus of action is to circumnavigate  (4 stopovers) with and for special needs crew. See here the VIVAM project's site.

Support and accompany a round the world sailing in 40 footer is no longer uncommon. Facing the massive withdrawal of companies sponsorships, particularly discernible in these times of crisis, many sailors directly solicit the public to help finance their projects.

For there is an undeniable fact: to circumnavigate the globe under sail, one must - among others but in the first place - have a sailboat.

I naturally encounter the difficulties of the moment in the implementation of the VIVAM project: companies too timid or too worried, that do not understand the communication's quality and level brought by this kind of project.

That's why I'm turning toward you, to private single donators. Not that things are easy for  most of us now, but if there are still some values of solidarity that emerge in the current disaster, this is where they are.

Together we are smarter and richer than alone.

And yes, I need your help to initiate the project.

The round the world journey is in theory 25 000 nautical nautical miles long. The idea is to read on board, on high sea, a letter every 100 miles. 
This is 2 500 letters. 
The minimum basis for participation is 100 €.

Supported by you, the 2 500 people, the convincing factors will be strengthened and I am sure that this will greatly help to find the additional and final funding.


Fine. But what do you have to win?
For one time in history, your participation will not stop with your donation. We offer indeed the possibility to participate to another adventure, more proactive and personal: Write your letter from beyond Horizons.

The original modalities of participation and monitoring will allow to follow the adventure on two different modes:

- On the Internet, with
  • The online publication, after moderation, of your Letter.
  • The display of every letter on a interactive map of the around the world's route, with, for the program's duration, a dedicated point on Google Map: one every 100 NM with the name of each author.

- At sea, in the real life,
  • the posted letters will be read on a pace of one every 100 miles or so. 
  • These lectures will be recorded in HQ video and 
  • send from the boat in high sea to the Internet site, with a possible subsequent compilation.


- In the ports, 
  • the boat will carry a 24 m2 flag in the forestay, and on each side, two 12 m2 dodgers where the letters will be 5x20 cm printed so that everyone can read them.

- Finally, several raffles will be conducted amongst the donators with various premiums*:
  • 5 nights 5 stars for two people stays in each port of call  (Cape Town, Wellington, Rio de Janeiro and Lisbon), when the boat will be there.
  • 3 and 7 days training and racing Navigations 
  • Daily trips onboard the ship.
  • Navigations themes: dolphins, whales, etc. ...
